Christmas Eve Cinnamon Vanilla Custard Pie – A Classic Holiday Dessert

  • 1 pre-made or homemade pie crust, unbaked
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (or seeds from 1 vanilla bean)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a 9-inch pie dish with pie crust, crimp the edges, and chill.
  3. Whisk eggs and sugar until smooth. Add milk, cream, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Pour mixture through a fine-mesh sieve for a smooth custard.
  5. Place pie dish on a baking sheet and pour custard into crust.
  6. Bake 35–45 minutes until edges are set but center is slightly jiggly.
  7. Cool completely, then refrigerate at least 2 hours before slicing.

Notes

  • Serve chilled for best flavor.
  • Can be topped with whipped cream or cinnamon.
