  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract; beat until smooth.
  4. Divide the batter between the pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.
  5. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form; assemble the cake with layers of whipped cream and strawberries.
