This pumpkin whipped feta dip is a creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet appetizer. It combines the earthy sweetness of pumpkin with the sharp saltiness of feta, creating a sophisticated fall dip that’s easy to make in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz block feta, drained
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree (plain, unsweetened)
  • 1/3 cup full-fat Greek yogurt or labneh
  • 12 tbsp olive oil, plus more for serving
  • 12 tbsp lemon juice (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Pinch cinnamon or nutmeg
  • Optional: hot honey, Aleppo pepper, fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, crumble the drained feta block.
  2. Add the pumpkin puree, Greek yogurt or labneh, 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil, lemon juice, smoked paprika, black pepper, and a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the food processor.
  3. Blend until the mixture is smooth and fluffy, which should take 1-2 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure even blending.
  4. Taste the pumpkin whipped feta dip and adjust seasonings as desired. You can add more lemon for brightness, more paprika for depth, or a touch of hot honey for sweet heat.
  5. If using, pulse in optional heat like Aleppo pepper or drizzle hot honey on top.
  6. Transfer the pumpkin whipped feta dip to a shallow bowl.
  7. Serve the creamy pumpkin feta spread with a swirl of olive oil, fresh herbs, and your favorite crunchy toppings.

Notes

  • Room temperature feta blends better for a smoother pumpkin whipped feta dip.
  • Control the sweetness of your whipped feta pumpkin dip by adding hot honey sparingly and tasting as you go.
  • A tiny pinch of cinnamon goes a long way; avoid over-spicing your savory pumpkin dip with feta.
  • Use good quality olive oil as its flavor is prominent in this easy pumpkin feta dip.
  • If your homemade pumpkin feta dip is too salty, stir in extra yogurt or a little more pumpkin puree.
  • For a thicker dip, add more feta or a spoon of cream cheese to your creamy pumpkin feta spread.
  • For a lighter dip, add another spoon of Greek yogurt to your pumpkin and feta appetizer.
  • This pumpkin feta appetizer recipe can be made 2–3 days ahead and stored in an airtight container in the fridge.
  • Do not freeze this pumpkin whipped feta dip as dairy-based dips can become grainy after freezing.
