One Pot Garlic Butter

A comforting and buttery one-pot meal featuring smoked sausage and orzo, cooked in garlic butter for a deliciously easy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the sliced sausage for about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the orzo to the pan, stirring to coat in the garlic butter, and toast for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. When the orzo is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed, return the sausage to the pan and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until warm.
  6. Sprinkle with chopped parsley, season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve hot.
