Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak or tender steak strips
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (20 oz) package refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Optional: chopped parsley or green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep the Steak: Slice sirloin into bite-sized pieces and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Sear the Steak: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak until browned and just cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté Veggies: In the same skillet, cook onion, bell peppers, and garlic until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Make the Sauce: Stir in heavy cream, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  5. Combine: Add cooked tortellini and steak back to the skillet. Toss to coat in sauce.
  6. Layer with Cheese: Top with mozzarella and provolone cheese evenly.
  7. Bake: Transfer to an oven-safe dish or keep in the skillet. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  8. Serve: Rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley or green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Use tender cuts of steak like sirloin or ribeye for best texture in your Golden Cheese Steak Tortellini Casserole.
  • Do not overcook the steak; it continues cooking in the oven.
  • Freshly grated cheese melts better and creates a golden crust for this Golden Cheese Steak Tortellini.
  • Add mushrooms, spinach, or different cheeses for variations to your Golden Cheese Steak Tortellini.
  • Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze up to 2 months.
