Crispy Honey Chicken Bites are a takeout-style favorite made at home in just 30 minutes. Juicy chicken pieces are marinated, breaded, fried until golden, and tossed in a sweet and savory honey glaze for the ultimate crunchy, sticky bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable, peanut, or canola)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, season the chicken with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and soy sauce. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Set up a dredging station with cornstarch in one bowl and beaten eggs in another.
  3. Dredge each chicken piece in cornstarch, then egg, then cornstarch again.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken in batches for 4–5 minutes or until golden and crispy. Drain on a wire rack.
  5. In a small pan, combine honey, soy sauce, water, and chili flakes. Simmer on low heat until slightly thickened (2–3 minutes).
  6. Toss the fried chicken in the warm honey sauce or drizzle just before serving.
