Crispy & Flavorful Dry Rubbed Baked Chicken Wings are crispy, juicy, and packed with bold flavor thanks to a savory homemade spice blend.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings, split and tips removed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  2. Pat chicken wings very dry with paper towels.
  3. Toss wings with olive oil in a large bowl.
  4. Combine all dry rub spices in a small bowl.
  5. Sprinkle spice mixture over wings and toss until evenly coated.
  6. Place wings on the wire rack, spaced apart.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  8. Let wings rest for 5 minutes before serving.
