Creamy Garlic Parmesan Cabbage is a rich, cheesy, and comforting low-carb side dish made with tender cabbage simmered in garlic butter and heavy cream, then finished with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large head green cabbage, cored and sliced (about 8 cups)
  • 3 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Remove outer leaves from the cabbage, core it, and slice into thick strips. Rinse and pat dry.
  2. Heat butter or olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30–60 seconds until fragrant, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
  4. Add sliced cabbage to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter. Season with salt and black pepper.
  5. Cook the cabbage for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened. Cook uncovered toward the end to allow excess moisture to evaporate.
  6. Reduce heat to low and pour in the heavy cream. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Gradually stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce becomes creamy and smooth.
  8. Simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing flavors to blend. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  9. Garnish with red pepper flakes and fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm.
