A comforting and delicious classic lasagna with layers of tender pasta, rich meat sauce, and melty cheeses.

Ingredients

  • Lasagna noodles
  • Ground beef or Italian sausage
  • Tomato sauce
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Egg
  • Garlic
  • Onion
  • Italian seasoning
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain and lay flat on a kitchen towel.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef or sausage with chopped garlic and onion until browned.
  4. Add tomato sauce and Italian seasoning; let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, salt, and pepper; mix until smooth.
  6. In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese; repeat until ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes; then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing.
