  • 1 cup (240 ml) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (220 g) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (360 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (170 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time and mix in the vanilla extract until just combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until no flour streaks remain.
  6. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and lemon juice.
  7. Beat the cream cheese mixture until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes.
  8. Drop 2 tablespoons of cookie dough onto the baking sheets, leaving space between each.
  9. Create a well in the center of each dough mound with your thumb or a small spoon.
  10. Dollop 1 tablespoon of cheesecake filling into each well and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden and centers are set but soft.
  12. Cool cookies on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
