A delicious and easy recipe for cheeseburger quesadillas served with a homemade burger sauce. This dish combines the flavors of a classic cheeseburger with the convenience of a quesadilla.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pickles (optional)
  • Butter or oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ketchup, mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the burger sauce. Set aside.
  2. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir the prepared burger sauce into the cooked ground beef. You can also add chopped onion and pickles at this stage if desired.
  4. Warm the tortillas slightly. This makes them more pliable and prevents them from cracking.
  5. Spread a layer of the cheeseburger mixture evenly over one half of each tortilla.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses over the meat mixture.
  7. Fold the other half of the tortilla over the filling to create a half-moon shape.
  8. Heat a lightly buttered or oiled skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  9. Carefully place the quesadillas onto the hot skillet. Cook for 3-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
  10. Cut the quesadillas into wedges and serve immediately with extra burger sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the burger sauce.
  • You can customize the cheese blend to your preference.
  • Ensure the ground beef is fully cooked before adding the sauce.
  • Serve with your favorite quesadilla toppings like sour cream, salsa, or avocado.
