Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups frozen french fries, thawed
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1/4 cup chopped pickles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  4. Add the condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add the thawed french fries, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and yellow mustard to the skillet. Stir gently to coat everything evenly. If using, stir in the chopped pickles.
  7. Spread the mixture evenly into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  8. Top with the shredded cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bake is heated through.
  10. Let the Cheeseburger French Fry Bake rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of your favorite hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
  • If you prefer a crispier fry topping, you can bake the fries separately for about 10 minutes before adding them to the casserole.
  • This cheeseburger casserole with fries is best served hot.
