  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 cups crushed pretzels, 1 cup melted butter, and 1 cup brown sugar in a bowl.
  2. Stir until pretzels are evenly coated and sticky.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a lined 9×9-inch baking dish.
  4. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup sweetened condensed milk, 1 cup brown sugar, and 1 cup butter over medium heat.
  5. Stir continuously until the mixture boils and thickens, about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt.
  7. Pour the caramel over the pretzel base, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  8. Melt 2 cups chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between.
  9. Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer and spread it evenly.
  10. Sprinkle extra sea salt on top for a sweet and salty finish.
  11. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  12. Lift the bars from the dish using parchment paper and slice into squares.
