Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 small flour tortillas
  • 1 cup oil for frying
  • 1 cup cinnamon sugar
  • 4 apples, diced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon caramel sauce
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Dice the apples and place them in a skillet with brown sugar, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, caramel sauce, butter, and cinnamon.
  2. Cook over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes until apples are soft and the sauce thickens. Set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Whip together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and remaining 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Fry tortillas one at a time for 10–20 seconds, flip, fold into taco shape, and fry other side for 5–10 seconds.
  6. Remove from oil, drain excess grease, and immediately coat in cinnamon sugar.
  7. Let cool upside down on a paper towel-lined plate.
  8. Fill each taco shell with the apple mixture.
  9. Pipe the cream cheese mixture on top of each taco.
  10. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a drizzle of caramel if desired.
  11. Serve immediately.
