Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prep the apples by peeling (if desired) and slicing them into fry-like sticks. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with a whisked mixture of egg and milk, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Dredge each apple stick in flour, dip into the egg mixture, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick spray and arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  5. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  6. Once golden and crispy, serve warm with caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream.
